Good News!

I am off the waiting list and will start the paperchase in the next week or so! I talked with the singles coordinator at AWAA this morning. First, I have to complete a release form and fax it back to AWAA on Monday. Then it sounds like I'll receive a packet to get me started on the paperchase, and I'll write AWAA a big check. I thought I'd be really excited at this point, but I actually feel sort of ambivalent. Is that normal? I mean, it's not that I'm not excited about the child who will be mine. I'm just not that excited about all that paperwork.

This is great news!! I too enjoyed the paperchase (most of it!) as I could "feel" progress. It's the time after that is more difficult in my opinion!! You are another step closer to your darling!

Congrats on getting the go ahead! The paperchase isn't too bad, just do one thing at a time, it's less stressful that way!
    so excited for you!!

It's really great that you can take this next step in your journey. As far as the emotions, I wouldn't go by them at all. Atleast you aren't petrified like I was. When I sent that first big agency check it felt like I was jumping out of an airplane (which is something I have never had a desire to do!) but I pressed through all my fears at the very beginning and now have so much peace and joy. You will probably be surprised by how you handle things emotionally at several points along the way, and that's okay.
