Lost in the Mail?

I called Vista del Mar (home study agency) today to confirm the receipt of my application. They haven't received it yet and that concerns me. I put it in the mail last Wednesday. They are just up the freeway in Los Angeles - same county. When I called them to request the application, I received it the very next day. Should I be sending everything I mail via FedEx or some other trackable way?

I will call them again this Wednesday to follow up.

Unfortunately anything of importance should be sent FedEx. My agency didn't even want me to use the USPS with tracking. Fortunately anything really important, I just drove to my agency because I didn't want to pay the hefty FedEx fees and I was a little protective over my documents (my agency is only a 30 min. drive from my house)! Give it until the middle of the week, you never know...maybe it's sitting in a file somewhere in your agency's office? (This actually happened to me once with my agency) Keep us posted.

    Johanna,

I think it will be ok. Sometimes I found that stuff took a bit longer to get where it needed to go at Vista. They are a HUGE place, and I would suspect the mail all goes to one main mailroom and then gets forwarded from there. I would call soon and just double check. Try FedEx or UPS next time just for your own piece of mind.

Oh shoot!!!! Whenever possible I always tried to do it all in person. Birth certificates, I171H, whatever I could.... I just felt safer and better smiling and handing in to another person with the comment that this is for my adoption and is very important!!!

It will show up and all will be well!!!

Thanks for your encouragement and suggestions. Unfortunately, it's not always feasible to personally deliver documents in the greater Los Angeles and Orange County areas. Traffic is a nightmare! So, I'll have to use FedEx or another service in the future. I'm hoping Jenny's suspicion about the mail distribution at Vista is the real issue.
