Namaste

Last night I took a yoga class at the gym. I am probably the least flexible person on the planet - I couldn't touch my toes even when I was a kid. That's what I get for being an ectomorph. However, it wasn't an advanced class, so I was able to do many of the postures. I did that one in the picture above!

After the class, I felt really good. I hadn't been to the gym in a long time and I was excited to see they have a Nautilus Tread Climber, so maybe I'll go back and give that a try, too. I've already decided to try the pilates class tomorrow.

Have you ever taken yoga or pilates?

Good for you Joannah! And do try the pilates. I "used" to follow the Mari Winsor pilates on DVD but I think I'm burned out and need to find some new ones to get motivated again. I did like Mari's program though as I could really feel a difference.

I absolutely LOVE yoga. Unfortunately the small town I live in doesn't offer any classes so most of my workouts are with video. It really does make you feel good and I think pilates is a nice compliment to yoga! Wish I could try out the tread climber with ya.

Good for you yoga and pilates are great and are things you can do on your own even when you can't get to the gym and can even travel to China with you. Keep it up you will feel great!

It is funny you brought up yoga. I did yoga religiously about a year ago and fell out of the habit. When I was visiting a friend this past weekend we took a class and I am hooked again. It really helps my posture and flexibility!

I need to. I bet it would help with the stress as well.

I'm more of the joggy type of gal. Most Yoga classes I set foot in are full of pregnant women (job hazard ;0)

I like to be outside for exercise and if I tried to pull off pilates in the yard I am SURE a neighbor would call for help.

You'll be touching your toes with ease in no time. I've done pilates with a tape at home (ball, bands & such), but I've never used machines. What I've done, I've liked - unfortunately, haven't stuck with it though.

BTW, I'm the 2nd least flexible girl in the world.

I should do yoga to ease the tension and stress of this wait. If I could get into a beginners' class, I'd probably go for it!

I've never done pilates either. Ok, so I'm just a bump on a log!

Love yoga! I've gotten out of the habit of practicing since my move to Salem, but the gym I went to in SLC had a great instructor on Saturdays. You'll have to let us know how pilates goes.

Love yoga but pilates not so much. For some reason it aggravates my fibro. Something random: I took my first intro yoga course over a weekend about 12 years ago (or maybe it was 15) and Ashley Judd was in the class.

One reason I stopped going to yoga in LA was the lack of parking. I would get so stressed out trying to find a parking space and/or getting a ticket that I dreaded going. I hope to get back into it here (plenty of land, plenty of parking).
