Apple Pie
I really like pie, especially this time of year. It's one of my favorite comfort foods. Both my mom and my sister make beautiful pies - apple and pumpkin usually, although my sister has made delicious and lovely cherry pies, too. Me, I help with the pie making, but it's not something I've ever tried on my own really. I'm okay with that! ;-)
So, yesterday, my mom and my grandmother (I call her Tata and she reads my blog all the time. Hi, Tata!) and I went to a little craft fair at Piecemakers pretty much just so we could eat their apple pie. It's that good! A few years ago, Mom and I were out shopping or something, and I had a craving for apple pie. I think it was our intention to go back to my mom's and make a pie, but then we drove by Piecemakers and saw that they were having a little fair. We stopped to check it out and sure enough, they were serving apple pie and it was SO good!
So, now, each October I drag my mom and Tata, or a friend, over to that little fair so that I can have some apple pie. I don't really care about all the "happy crap" they're selling (although they usually have some neat jewelry), I just want the pie.
Apple pie is way better than mooncakes!
So, what's your favorite kind of pie? Do you make your own pies?

There's a cute little Cider Festival here that used to be really nice. I started going about 10 yrs ago with one of my girlfriend's kids. Now it's gotten really commercial and overpriced. But my point was that I still go... just for the apple fritters. Really yummy! So I can relate to your story.
My fave pie is probably apple, too. Warm with ice cream on top. And no I don't bake pies.

How cute that Tata reads your blog!
I recently began making my own pies completely from scratch and everyone says that they are fantastic. As someone who hates pie, I cannot sample my own work. My most famous pie is a fresh peach pie that I make on special holidays. I just finished making a homesmade pumpkin pie for Thanksgiving dinner tonight. I hope it will taste good!

Mmmmmm....Pie. I love me some Boysenberry pie. I had some last night. No, I don't make my own. I don't do that much real cooking.

I'm not a pie girl typically...although some pumpking pie appeals now and then. We would do fine on an island with only pie and mooncakes....I'd take the mooncakes and you could be in pie heaven!

Apple pie (with a bit of cinnamon and lots of vanilla ice cream) is right up my alley. Thanks a lot - now I'm hungry.

My grandma used to make the best ever cherry pie. There was something so amazing about her pastry. (You could break your teeth on mine. LOL) She also made a fabulous blackberry and apple pie that I loved and being English we always had lots of custard with them.
I make something called better than apple pie which is really good.

Apple pie is the BEST!!!! I love it warm out of the oven with lots of yummy vanilla ice cream.
As for making pies - I guess you could call what I do half homemade :-) I make the insides myself but cheat and us a ready-made pie crust. I've made several attempts at making a crust from scratch - but haven't been able to master it yet. Hopefully one day!

I like whatever pie is being served up. I don't bake, nor do buy pies, it just doesn't help my waistline. But you sure got me hungry for some good old fashion pie!

My two favorites are pumpkin and pecan pie. I can make pies myself but I'm not the greatest at making a pretty crust. My mom, however, can whip up pies like they were nothing. Her pecan pie is to die for!

With all due modesty, I'm a pretty good baker. But I've never mastered pie crust. It's very frustrating! Apple and pumpkin are definitely my favorites!

I've been to Piecemaker's once or twice with my Mom. I'm not much into quilting after 15 minutes or so and the samples really help! =) I *love* fresh peach pie with whipped cream like at M. Callendar's in the summer. They bake it on this coast...just isn't the same!

3 cheers for apple pie! I love it, but have never made it. Just the idea of making pie crust scares me...cold butter, cold water, pastry cutter, mix until crumbled juuussst right, then roll out with a rolling pin! Dang, it is good though...now I want a piece.

My favorite pie is pumpkin. I really like pecan, but try to stay away from it except on Thanksgiving.
I am not a fan of apple pie. I love how it makes the house smell, but I am not a fan. We just came from my mother-in-laws and she had two apple pies for dessert. I was glad, I don't have a hard time turning down apple pie. :)

That picture of pie is making me so hungry. We have one of the best pie-making places not too far away. They've been on one of the food-tv channels, Julian Pies....mmmmmm, Julian piiiiiie! My favorite is APPLE! Gotta go to the store and see if they have any Julian pies!!

Have you ever been to Julian? Great apple pie. Long drive. It's a nothing-little-quaint town with not much to do but some shopping. The pie is awesome. The Julian Pie Company has great pie and this amazing cinnamon whipped cream and ice cream. To die for. Unfortunately, their web site is "Under Construction". I don't know what it is about that little town, but I really love it. It's a little jewel. And you can even go Apple picking there. So I digress. My fave is Apple too. :)

P.S. I would love to bring you along to some OC FCC events. I've heard they have some good support for paper chase and waiting parents as well. Just a great group of people.
I will keep you and Michelle posted on events coming up.
