TGIF

The good news?

It's a three-day weekend.

The bad news?

It's supposed to rain all weekend.

Looks like I'll have no excuses for not catching up on my studies. But there should also be time for watching some movie rentals. Any recommendations?

I'm just back from the video store and I've got A Prairie Home Companion (love the radio show), The New World, and the last kiss.

I'll let you know what I think of them in a day or two.

    You get a three day weekend? Luck-eee! We only take next Monday off, because we have too many other days off. Movie rentals? Hmmmmm........I don't know. It's been awhile since I watched a movie.

    I'd say **embrace the rain** sister. We need it desparately. I've been doing a rain dance - and finally Mother Nature listened!!

    So, movies...hmm...how about Walk the Line? Or, Breakfast at Tiffany's? Back seasons of The Office?

    We're watching "Pirates Of the Caribbean" tonight. Not sure if it'll be any good. I still want to watch the newer "Pride and Prejudice"....soon, I hope! Good luck finding something to watch!

    Have you seen the "40 Year Old Virgin"? It was absolutely laugh out loud funny. But I'm always way late on the movie thing. I never have time to sit still long enough to get through one so I'm always about a year behind current releases. I also watched part of "Beaches" the other day. It was on Oxygen channel. Classic chick flick. One of my faves.

    Big Fish (wonderful story telling film)
    I know like me you are a fan of Pride and Prejudice, so you will really like Jane Eyre the new BBC version (2006). BRILLIANT!

    Enjoy your long weekend. I'm weighing in with some heavy flicks (pun intended)...

    Running with Scissors;
    The Departed...extremely violent, but I dig sarcasm and testosterone, so this one did it for me (Not out until 2/13)
    The Squid and the Whale (have not seen, heard it's good)
    The Secret Life of David Gale (I love psych. thrillers)
    The Mothman Prophecies;
    The Hours;
    The Promise (China)
    Oh, and let's not forget the Oscar winning Jackass series (just kidding)

    I loved Beyond Borders (see C.O. reference below)

    At the movies, if you want to run between the raindrops, I really want to see Pan's Labyrinth and
    Children of Men (I sooo adore Clive Owen), and for a little levity...Wildhogs, the cast was on Oprah the other day, hil-lar-ious!

    I am going to see The Painted Veil sometime in the next few days and can't wait.

    Sorry so long, but you did ask and I just couldn't stop myself.

    Wow! So many great suggestions!

    I'm taking my Blockbuster giftcard over there this afternoon and checking out what's on the shelves. I think I'd like to see A Prairie Home Companion - I love Garrison Keillor.

    I also have some movie passes, so perhaps I'll try to see The Painted Veil over the weekend, too.

    The rain is holding off, so my mom is on her way over to help me prune the roses in the backyard.

    I watched A Prairie Home Companion last weekend and LOVED it! So gentle and sweet. This weekend, it's Little Miss Sunshine...at least I will have seen one of the Oscar-nominated films this year!

    Catch up on as many movies as you can because the latest new release I have seen is, drum roll please: Cinderella III. But I wouldn't change a thing.
