Memorial Day 2007

It's a long-awaited three-day weekend.

The unofficial beginning of summer.

A time to get away, or start up the barbeque and spend time with friends and family.

It's also a time to remember and reflect.

You can let our troops in Iraq and Afghanistan know you remember them and wish them well by visiting Let's Say Thanks.

There's another good one that I put up on my blog last year called "A Million Thanks"(www.amillionthanks.org) It is so easy to forget what these "holidays" are about. It is important to remember. Thanks for the reminder.

Great message! (And I love that beautiful antique drawing). I bet there are a whole bunch of folks who don't even remember what this holiday is all about (guilty of that myself sometimes) -- it's just "hooray the 3-day weekend!" So thanks for the wonderful reminder.

Thanks for reminding us what the day is all about. In our town there are hundreds of flags lining the streets with names of those in our town who have served, it's a beautiful sight.

That is a beautiful post and we do remeber why and reflect as both my dad and the hubby's dad servend in three wars combined, WWII, Korea and Vietnam. Tonight, Dan and I will watch Saving Private Ryan, which has become a tradition for us on Memorial Day. Thank you for such a beautiful image to remind us why we celebrate Memorial Day :-)

Thank you for posting this. My husband is in the Air National Guard. It means a lot to them to know that people appreciate them.
